Villa Belgiojoso Brivio Sforza opens on the occasion FAI Autumn Days
Almost 800 visitors took part in the event dedicated to discovering the residence in Merate.
On the occasion of the FAI Autumn Days 2025, on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October, Villa Belgiojoso Brivio Sforza opened its doors to the public on an exceptional basis, welcoming almost 800 visitors, including citizens, art lovers, and scholars.
The initiative, organized in collaboration with the FAI Delegation of Alta Brianza, was a unique opportunity to admire up close one of the most fascinating historic residences in Brianza, featured in the recent book Villa Belgioioso Brivio Sforza in Merate. Gusto per le arti e magnificenza nella dimora di Barbara D'Adda Belgioioso e dei suoi figli (A taste for the arts and magnificence in the home of Barbara D'Adda Belgioioso and her children), edited by Jessica Gritti and Alessandra Squizzato, promoted by the Brivio Sforza Foundation.
During the guided tours, participants were able to stroll through the historic gardens of the villa, rediscovering the evolution of landscape design from the 18th to the 19th century: from the Baroque garden to the English park, to the monumental hornbeam grove leading to the belvedere, a privileged vantage point from which to admire the main façade of the residence.
With this opening and the recent publication of a book dedicated to the residence, the Brivio Sforza Foundation renews its commitment to promoting and disseminating the historical and cultural heritage of the family and Lombard tradition.
